About

NABLA, or Norwegian Advanced Battery Laboratory, is a national research infrastructure focusing on advanced battery technology. The purpose of NABLA is to promote research and development in battery technology to support Norway’s transition to a sustainable energy future. The infrastructure aims to address tasks related to the development of new battery materials, improving battery performance and safety, and optimizing production processes.

NABLA offers a range of services, including access to advanced laboratory facilities, expertise in battery research, and collaboration with leading research institutions and industry partners. The infrastructure is geared toward users from academia, industry, and the public sector and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing.

NABLA collaborates with other national and international infrastructures to strengthen research capacity and promote innovation in battery technology. The national infrastructure is a collaboration between IFE (coordinator), SINTEF, UiO, NTNU, and UiA, all of which have their nodes of the infrastructure locally organized. NABLA is also closely linked to FME BATTERY and its member partners.
