Partners

Interconnect the research activities conducted by the six main players in the field of battery research in Norway (IFE, SINTEF, UiO, UiA, NTNU and FFI)

The NABLA consortium represented herein consists of the following research partners: IFE, NTNU, SINTEF, UiA, UiO and FFI. All abovementioned organizations have a long history of collaborations across the battery value chain through RCN-funded projects and FME MoZEES centre.

Furthermore, over the recent years the NABLA partners gained recognition as technical leaders in the field of battery research in Norway and internationally. The partners of the present consortium have been strategically selected based on their research excellence, contributions to their respective fields and their infrastructure. The host institutions already have active facilities necessary for NABLA installation at their locations.

The consortium strives to strengthen the Norwegian industries’ common R&D interests within the battery area. SINTEF and NTNU, in collaboration with IFE and other national battery stakeholders, have established the Battery Ecosystem Accelerator of Norway – BEACON, which brings together leaders from research, small and medium enterprises, industry, interest organizations, investors and public authorities.

The partners of the NABLA consortium also engage in other relevant Norwegian networks and aim to establish Norway as a global leader in every link of the battery value chain. They are all part of a bigger ecosystem within battery chemistry (UiO, NTNU, SINTEF Industry, IFE), battery cell production (SINTEF Industry, IFE, NTNU) and applications (IFE, UiA, FFI, SINTEF Energy) for mobile applications and stationary energy storage, which will be significantly strengthened through the establishment of the proposed national research infrastructure within batteries. The institutes have a broad industrial and academic network that will contribute to the use of the infrastructure for research and development projects.
